Intervention
I’ve developed a horrible habit that has gotten out of hand and thus it is time for this self-imposed intervention.
You see, I’ve become absolutely horrible about responding to email in a timely fashion. I have emails that date back to early spring of 2008 that I need to respond to. Worse, I haven’t even looked at the majority of them, so they’re still marked as unread.
It’s not that I don’t want to read the emails or that I don’t care about the people who’ve written. I simply want to respond to each person who took the time to email me. That, of course, takes time and thought so I keep putting it off. Knowing that I will most likely put it off, I’ve stopped opening most emails.
So most days I log in, feel overwhelmed by the daunting list of unread emails and log out. But no more! It’s a new year and I don’t want to continue with bad habits. I’m going to spend the rest of January reading and replying to old emails and I will try to stay on top of future correspondence.

Don’t worry about mine as they are mostly low priority links or comments that are not time-sensitive. I think people appreciate a thoughtful response, vs. a quick but glossed-over one, unless it’s regarding some immediate planning question that demands promptness.
Nice new comment system.
