May Day

!

Can you believe it's May already? Is it just me or are the days passing by more quickly than ever before? My dad says it's a sign of advanced aging. Could it be true? Have I entered into a state of decline?

Well, I did crack another tooth the other day, most likely from grinding. I'm getting it fixed today. It's terrible to start out a fresh new month with a visit to the dentist. Don't get me wrong, I love my dentist. He's incredibly kind and patient. But despite technological advancements, I still consider dentistry to be a form of medieval torture. I don't think I'm alone in this view.

Anyway, I'm not in a good mood today, or lately for that matter. In fact, 2008 has been an incredibly shitty year thus far. Let's review the highlights, or rather lowlights:

  • Rang in the new year with the flu
  • Bought a house I was unsure about
  • Scrambled to find financing in this lousy economy
  • Have been going through renovation hell
  • Moved in with my in-laws! (This counts as double agony.)
  • Currently homeless and living in a motel
  • Regretfully chopped off a foot of my hair (I blame Arnon for bad advice!)
  • Just got over a nasty sinus infection

Ok, so my list isn't as long as I thought it would be, but I still feel pretty upset about how poorly everything's turned out. Especially my hair. Why, for the love of pistachios, did I listen to Arnon? I swear, I never learn!

Come to think of it, I do have something nice coming up. This Saturday, I'm going with my three-year old niece to see Hello Kitty at the Stanford Mall. Our appointment is at 10:12 a.m. Bizarre. I guess Hello Kitty is very busy so every minute counts.
