Birthday Gift

I am a deeply stubborn person. I blame it on the fact that I was born in the year of the ox. But even I know when I'm putting up a fight out of habit rather than in defense of principles that have long since faded.

Alright, so I'm not actually that astute, but I'm fortunate to have friends like Anuj who point out that I'm being lame and uncompromising and help me change.

Anyway, to make a long story short, for Arnon's birthday last Thursday, I gave him my name. Actually, I took his name, but it's what he's been wanting for years so it was the perfect gift for this occasion.

Well officially your initials will be TZ. Either way I like them both (BZ and TZ).

Tobia Ziklik has a very nice ring to it. I remember asking you about that when we first started working together and you said.....something about Korean custom, you remember, don't you? *)

Ah yes, my standard line to people asking why I didn't keep with tradition and take my husband's name; that I was keeping with the Korean tradition (which I could care less about) of keeping my father's name. Interestingly, only women have ever asked me why I was still a Chung.

By the way, I am T.C.Z. Can't lose the Chung. After all, it was a compromise.

Hey B, I like TCZ. You're right; can't lose the 'C'. I kept my R, & wouldn't have it any other way. A compromise helped. YRS sounds fine, plus Andy's happy about it as I'm sure Arnon is. =)

Actually, you know, YRS are pretty cool initials too (I can't believe I never noticed this before). TCZ and YRS sound like they could be the names of two high-end racing cars made by competing manufacturers - or at least the names of the manufacturer's racing divisions.
